Le FRAC Auvergne consacre une exposition au photographe américain Gregory Crewdson ; la première exposition de cet artiste majeur, internationalement reconnu, dans une institution française. Elle s’accompagne de la publication du livre « The Becket Pictures » . L’exposition réunira les séries Fireflies (1996) et Cathedral of the Pines (2013-2014), toutes deux conçues dans la ville de Becket (Massachusetts) où l’artiste passa une partie de son enfance. Elle présentera également un ensemble d’oeuvres issues de la série Beneath the Roses (2003-2008).

This exhibition – the first in a French institution – brings together works of Fireflies (1996) and the artist’s more recent series, Cathedral of the Pines (2013-2014). The two series, created at the same site – near the town of Becket, Massachusetts, and made with diametrically opposed resources, temporally frame the period during which Gregory Crewdson’s universe was fleshed out, positing him as one of today’s leading figures in photography. A bilingal catalogue will be published on the occasion of the show.
